COMAH Establishments | Energy and Infrastructure | This dataset provides details of establishments that are covered by the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations 2015. There are two types (tiers) of establishment which are subject to COMAH, known as 'Upper Tier' and 'Lower Tier' depending on the quantity of dangerous substances they hold. Upper Tier establishments have additional requirements are placed upon them as they hold greater quantities of dangerous substances. The dataset also indicates the reach of the Public Information Zone (PIZ) as a buffer for each site which are used by site operators to manage risks in the unlikely event an accident occurs. |
