Ancient Woodland | Planning Constraints | This datasets provides the boundaries of woodlands that have had continuous woodland cover for centuries. These are of a higher nature conservation value than those developed recently. |
Registered Parks and Gardens | Planning Constraints | This datasets shows sites on the 'Register’ of Historic Parks and Gardens, established in 1983, which ensures 'designed' landscapes are protected rather than those with botanical importance. The Register safeguards a broad range of planned open spaces, including parks, cemeteries, the grounds of private houses, and town squares. |
World Heritage Sites | Planning Constraints | This dataset shows the locations of World Heritage Sites are described by UNESCO as exceptional places of ‘outstanding universal value’ and ‘belonging to all the peoples of the world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located’. |
Open Access | Planning Constraints | The dataset displays land designated as Open Access under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 (CROW), incorporating areas identified as mountain, moor, heath, and down, along with registered common land and land formally dedicated as open access. It merges Open Country and Registered Common Land into a unified layer, excluding certain categories of excepted land. Dedicated forests are not included in this dataset. |
Radon | Radon | The radon potential dataset is the definitive map of radon-affected areas in Great Britain, created jointly by UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the BGS, and shows the likelihood of a dwelling having a radon concentration at or above the Action Level. Radon Potential is divided into six discrete Radon Classes (RnC 1 to 6). Areas classified as RnC 1 have a Radon Potential of less than 1%, through to RnC 6 areas with a Radon Potential greater than 30%. Although the radon data used in production of the maps comes from measurements in homes, they are indicative of the likely extent of the local radon hazard in buildings and, therefore, the information is also relevant to employers in assessing workplace risks and to developers seeking to construct new buildings. |
Overground Rail | Transportation | This dataset shows the location of all railway stations and track lines, including light rail systems. |
Overground Rail - Elizabeth Line | Transportation | This dataset shows the Crossrail operating route and stations from Reading/Heathrow in the west to Shenfield/Abbey Wood in the east. |
London Underground | Transportation | This datasets shows the locations of all London Underground tube stations and track lines. Underground rail stations are joined at the correct locations, however the railway tracks alignment between stations is indicative. |
HS2 | Transportation | This dataset shows the proposed HS2 route and all the stations along the trainline. |
HS2 Safeguarding Zones | Transportation | This dataset shows all land which has been safeguarded to ensure the land identified for major infrastructure works is protected from conflicting developments. |
